Calculator method
Manual (FLSA-style) mode:
- Regular pay = hourly rate × regular hours
- Overtime pay = hourly rate × 1.5 × OT hours
- Double-time pay = hourly rate × 2 × double-time hours
- OT premium = (0.5 × rate × OT hours) + (1.0 × rate × double-time hours)
- Gross = regular + overtime + double-time
- Optional net = gross × (1 − withholding percent)
California daily toggle:
- Each workday: first 8 straight, next 4 at 1.5×, after 12 at 2×.
- If all seven days of the workweek have hours, day 7 is 1.5× for the first 8 and 2× after 8.
- Leftover straight-time hours over 40 become weekly 1.5×. Daily and weekly premiums are not stacked on the same hour.
Money is rounded to the nearest cent. Hours are capped at 168 for a workweek. The tool does not rebuild a legal regular rate when bonuses or multiple rates apply.
